Spain:
I preordered on July from Samson for $94.99.
In Spain you have to pay VAT, a couple of small fees (1 euro each or so) and 21 euro to have the paperwork done for you. The Spanish Post service, Correos, has really done an effort to do it better, and, even though they delayed processing for a week, I just had to answer a couple of emails sending a copy of the bill, accept a pro forma invoice and do send a bank transfer.
Total:
$94.99 + $40 shipping = $134.99
in euros, that's 99.
To that I have to add 18% VAT, 3.2% customs tariff -> 120 euros
And, the charge for the custom processing service, which is 21.80 (subject to VAT) -> 25.70
Total: 145 euro.
Seems the European Union has taken a hard stance on overseas purchases. I understand, of course, but the cost is rather hefty. Fortunately, at least in Spain I don't need to visit the customs.
