H to HMS Bug in HP 15C LE?
Message #1 Posted by Eddie W. Shore on 26 Sept 2011, 9:43 a.m.

My apologizes if this has been talked about before:

HP 15C LE in Radians Mode: Converting sqrt(5) to HMS gives 2.140984472 (2°14'9.84472") Going back to H gives 2.400188825 [I believe this is wrong]

HP 15C LE in Degrees Mode: Converting sqrt(5) to HMS gives 2.140984472 Going back to H gives 2.236067978

Eddie,

My machine does these calculations correctly!

If you execute conversion to H TWICE, back from 2.14098, you get 2.40019!!! That is,

2.23607 ->H gives 2.40019
