"People could cheat on a math test with it and that is what it is known for. "

Wasn't the 34C the first with a solver?

As for cheating, any continuous memory calc was good for that as long as you could get it by the TA's guarding the door!

The 41C was great cause you could create a program to display "MEMORY LOST". That usually convinced a no-nothing TA that the calc was clear of programs.

Of course, I really wouldn't know if that worked or not ;-)

Then again, if you could write an RPN program to cover the formulae required for the exam, you usually ended up with them memorized in any case, (now that did happen to me so I really did memory loss the calc at the door, guilt and all that).

Cheers, Geoff

p.s. did I mention that I love my 41CL

These days, TA's don't look twice at an HP 41. They just can't imagine a non-graphing calculator with that kind of power.

Well, I replaced my Casio fx-7000G with an HP 28C - that one was the first. Paid 199DM for the Casio and 444DM for the HP. Quite a bunch of money for a 15/17 year old :)
