Light Scratches on 12c Bezel - Steel Wool?
Message #1 Posted by Matt_12c on 7 Apr 2011, 5:20 p.m.

For a 12c with light scratches on the metal bezel (or whatever the correct term is), do you have any good solutions on getting rid of those? I don't want to make it worse! Any tips appreciated.

There is a light coating of laqueur on the bezel. So any attempt to remove scratches will involve removing all the laqueur and then using "3m pot scrubber" or re laqueuring.

check out this posting and do a search:

Refinishing only works for the 10/11/15/16C as the 12C finish is a gold anodize. Any attempts to remove scratches will result in a partially silver bezel once you remove the anodized coating.

Thanks all. On the lacqueur, what kind is best? Or should I say, what kind that is readily available is best? Do you use spray or brush on, satin, gloss or semigloss?

Thanks much.
