Weird 28S keyboard on Anniversary model
Message #1 Posted by Keith Midson on 29 Mar 2011, 3:53 a.m.

I bought a 100th Anniversary edition of the 28S a few years ago - mint physical condition but the bottom row of keys on the alpha keyboard didn't work. So I just bought another from TAS thinking that this one would be fine (laws of probability would surely work in my favour ...), but it's got EXACTLY the same problem!!
Now I have about 7 other 28S's as well as 3 x 28C's and a few 18C's and 19B's in my collection and have never come across this before. Has anyone else had this issue? Was there a batch quality control issue with the limited edition version? Very strange. Keith.

The laws of probability are working against you. Conclusion: too many clamshells. [;-)

And still not enough Clamshells for good statistics ;-).

Actually it's proof of Murphy's Law.

For whatever it is worth my 100 Year American Mathematics 1888-1988 HP-28S serial number 2801A04702 does NOT have a problem with the bottom row of the alpa keyboard.
