HP-42S Repair and Color Match
Message #1 Posted by aj04062 on 28 Mar 2011, 7:10 p.m.

For what it's worth, I have repaired my HP-42S Original Thread:

Original Thread

A very steady hand and several re-dos with the silver trace repair and I have a fully functional LCD again. I repaired about 6 traces in all. Thanks to all who assisted.

Now to make it "almost new" I was wondering if anyone has tried to touch up damaged brown paint on the faceplates of these calcs. Somehow the previous owner spilled something that damaged a small area.

I suppose I could buy a few model paints and start mixing to try and match, but was wondering if anyone has ever found an off the shelf match.
