IR communication between HP-39gs and HP-39G

The 39gs manual states that it is possible to transfer aplets between an old style IR port (HP-39G) and the HP-39gs. The problem is that the menu item "HP39G" (without "(IrDA)") is missing from the receive menu in the aplet view. Am I missing something?
