In my experience, the greater value of drawing the curves with the 41 as brought up in the original thread about using the pen plotter to draw the curve is in testing some kind of product, especially for the military when I worked in the engineering lab at a microwave power transistor manufacturer, and the paper goes into a report that is kept on file, immune to disc crashes and so on. (Of course today multiple back-ups on servers should remedy that problem.) I've seen it used for this kind of thing many times, never just to see what something would look like or get a cool graphic, but rather to keep a record of the test results of the product.
