HP 12-C on the Android
Message #1 Posted by Dale Wyckoff on 26 Dec 2009, 11:01 p.m.

In October palmheads asked about HP-15c/12c for the Android. Bruce Bergman responded with "Coming. Stand by." Does anyone have an idea as to the status of this app? I'd love to have a 12-C on my Droid!

Ha! That goes to show that I should keep my big mouth shut! ;-)

Actually, I haven't heard anything on it since October either. I suspect there have either been some issues or higher priorities. I, for one, have been working to put something RPN-ish on the Palm Pre, but getting into their developer program is like pulling teeth. It's almost like some of these companies don't want you to create apps for their phones.

Anyhow, hopefully someone will produce something for the Android platform soon. Maybe the rumors of the Nexus One going on sale next week will spur some interest. I'm just as interested as y'all.

thanks, bruce

Hey Bruce - can you give us a hint who was working on another 12c calc for the Android? Be interesting to see what stage they are at.

cheers Daryn

RPNCalcPro in the Android Market now has a HP-12c lookalike financial mode (updated today) in landscape view. Looks pretty good to me! It also has a scientific calculator & a basic RPN calc mode.

It doesn't have the programmable abilities of a real 12c, but for most people who cares. The key layout & functionality looks the same to me.

It doesn't looks exactly the same aesthetically (ie exactly the same look as a 12c), but still looks like a HP calc thanks to the natural look of RPNCalcPro. Key layout is the same which is important!

Very happy to see it!
