|OT -- Ulimate Calculator Design Artcile|
Message #1 Posted by Katie Wasserman on 10 Nov 2009, 6:42 p.m.
For those of you in the IEEE Computer Society, the November 2009 issue of "Computer" has as its end page an article by Neville Holmes. He describes the follow-on to the pocket calculator calling it a "forumulator". It seems like he's suggesting implementing something close to APL on a iPhone-like device and gives some specifics that would make it a good learning tool.
If nothing else it's interesting to read an opinion of what the ultimate calculator should be from someone who doens't (I think) frequent this forum.

Neville Holmes columns in Computer are usually very good; I will look at this particular one for sure!
BTW, I miss Ted G. Lewis "Binary Critic" column, it used to be very, very good...
