With what model were the iconic leather pouches first and last offered?

Do you mean the zip up pouches?

I believe these began with the HP-67. The prior calculators had a black leather case with velcro enclosure. These cases conform to the shape of the calculator. True of the 65 also which has an added pouch to hold the plastic case that held the magnetic cards.

The 67 did away with the plastic case for cards, replacing it with a vinyl notebook. At the same time they changed to a rectangular zip-up case which has a pouch inside for the vinyl card case.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. I have a HP-21 and a HP-25 here with made-to-fit HP brown pouches. These two calculators were released before the HP-67...

Sometimes I forget the 67 really had second gen innards. By made-to-fit do you mean a conformal design or the rectangular zip-up pouch?

They are brown HP pouches but smaller than the HP-41 pouch if you're familiar with it...

IIRC, my 45 came with a zip-up brown pouch. They weren't leather, though, they were a man-made plastic material, like Naugahyde. I also bought the black leather belt pouch, which was an optional extra. This was all around April 1974.

I bought a 65 a couple of years later, but it came with the soft black leather pouch that had an extra pocket for an application pac.

Best,
