HP 35s: Killed by software? Message #1 Posted by Peter Niessen on 30 June 2009, 12:20 p.m. Hi, malheur de malheur: I just typed SOLVE R on it, the busy indicator went on, after a few seconds the display went dark and can't be switched on again. Similar experiences? Cheers, Peter.

Message #4 Posted by Quan on 30 June 2009, 1:04 p.m., in response to message #3 by Peter Niessen If the batteries are not new, I think it's possible that the batteries are weakened to a point where heavy-duty computations draw more current than the batteries can handle, causing a blackout that would require a reset. Good to know your 35s wasn't killed by software... like virus. :) BTW, if this happens again, try the RESET hole on the back. It might save removing/re-inserting the batteries.
