Beatiful scene, is the house Victorian or Edwardian and did Currier and Ives create the images? ;-)

Cheers, Geoff

Thanks Geoff. Those are my neighbors. The houses were built in 1904 and 1905. Mine was built in 1905, but it must have been their caretakers shack. :) I'm not sure what style they are, but nice to look at.

Hi Geoff,

Nice shots! I live in the same general area (Vancouver) and am amazed at how much snow we have recently seen. Unfortunately (in some ways) it is now fast melting away already.

Here are some shots I took with my Canon EOS-50D, ISO 1600+, all handheld with my Toklina 11-16mm f/2.8 zoom. I was walking home from work in Vancouver earlier in the week and wanted to record some of the incredible snowfall. Substantially more snow has fallen since these photos, but now, as mentioned, it is disappearing quickly...

This is how my garden looked just a month ago:

But now all the snow has gone. But here in Belgium it is still cold (about 0° Celsius). So there was no White Christmas, the last one dates almost from forty (!) years ago.

Have a nice end of the year and thanks for all the postings!

Ljad Belgium.

I am away from home, or I could show some really snowy shots (we've had more than three feet of snow in the last two weeks!). These are some shots I had stored on my laptop, so I'm sending them in, to show winter in the higher elevations of Arizona (Flagstaff is at an elevation of 7000 feet).

This is a picture of the snow blowing off the tops of the San Francisco Peaks (the highest mountains in Arizona, and less than 10 miles from our house). This is the view from our bedroom window.

Here is sunrise on the pine trees, as shot from our back window:

Another view of snow on The Peaks (actually in the Autumn, as indicated by the colored tree leaves):

My wife (an HP11C and HP32S user, too) with Freeway the dog on a snowy day. This picture is from several years ago, and it is even snowier out there now.

Hi Dave,

I will my son Joey that he is missing teh snow in Flagstaff (where he studies) while he is home with us for the holidays. It has been above average here in Richmond, VA. The temperature will go back in the 40s tomorrow.

Cheers,

Namir

PS: Joye got all A's in his classes this past semester.
