I bought a similar device (car LCD video monitor) for 1 USD a year ago and it works with the HP-IL video interface. However, the screen is very small. I could only use the 40 lines mode, in 80 lines mode things were impossible to read. I think for 90 USD you can probably find a way to connect the hp-IL to a normal computer LCD screen (there are devices which can do that, search the forum, there are a few threads on this in the past)...
