Message #1 Posted by hpnut on 23 July 2008, 12:43 a.m.

Hi,

does anybody know how to make the manuals searchable?

non of the three manuals (Quick Start, User's Guide and Advanced User's Guide) are searchable.

thanks for any help.

Yes, you need some software that will do Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on the document. Adobe Acrobat Professional does this, but I'd guess there are other options.

Yes, this is something I would really welcome too.

In the meantime, I use the pdf manuals for the 49g+ which are indexed. You need to be a bit careful with that but the basic information is mostly the same - common sense and hunch will tell you where things are changed.
