Re: HP 50g successor - no, Wait.... really Message #2 Posted by Allen on 2 June 2008, 5:49 p.m., in response to message #1 by Ivan Latorre
Even if HP designed a 50g improvement, they would call it "50g" and the brilliant Business Majors in the marketing department will not allow HP to release it until every last darn 50g is sold off the shelves- could take years!
HP has irresponsibly delayed US release of the Silver 17bii+ (nevermind the bright idea of keeping the same model number).
I say to HP:Do SOMETHING other than sit on the new model longer! Three concrete proposals for your consideration:
1. Sell the surplus Gold 17bii+ in the Asian/Australian market while exchange rates are in shareholder favor.
2. and/or release the Silver 17bii+ at a higher price in the US to avoid competing with the GOLD ones.
3. and/or post surplus Calculators on http://www.overstock.com/ and get on with innovation.
HP, Don't loose your momentum in the calculator market because of surplus.
( edited for formating-- was running off the screen because of the PRE format on last line)
