50G USB cable similarity
Message #1 Posted by designnut on 7 May 2008, 3:05 p.m.

I left the cable for my 50G attacched to the computer and it suddenly went missing when my niece went on vacation. On her return I asked where it had gone. It turns out she has a keychain that holds photos and charges from the USB port that exactly matches that cable and thought it was hers and took it. I thought it odd they matched exactly. Sam

That's what the U in USB stands for: Universal. It's just a plain vanilla USB cable. I connect my Nikon with it, a variety of mp3 players, a navigation PDA and lots of other stuff...

see post #5 by Jonathan Eisch on 7 May 2008, 4:22 p.m.

(Beware, post # do change when new posts are inserted. Can I do something about that?)

It's a USB 2.0 standard "mini-b" connector, and you can read all about it on documents linked to from here: http://www.usb.org/developers/docs/
