MCODE - Hyperlinked SDK41 Manual Message #1 Posted by PeterP on 24 Apr 2008, 11:10 p.m.
Hi,
I recently started to read more about MCODE on the 41 and very soon this means coming across Warren Furlow's fantastic SDK41 package. It provides a great environment to create and test MCODE, build custom ROMS, single-step as well as full run through MCODE programs and see all registers etc. As you might be able to tell, I'm a great fan of it (albeit a primitive beginner)
While reading through the .txt manual I started reformatting some pages, created some graphs to represent the file-system etc. Soon one thing led to another and so now I have a fully hyperlinked word-formatted pdfed manual with color pictures strewn in for good measure. It really helps me locate information quickly.
Last but not least, I added a final section which is a step-by-step example on how to create a MCODE source file, assemble, link it, load it into the emulator and single step it, and then build a ROM image from more than one MCODE file in different notations. All with source code listings each step of the way. These basically were the steps that I went through to get to know the package, so I thought it might be useful for others as well.
I'm not sure to what extent there will be an interest from others for this file but I wanted to make it available. However I do not know a good place to host the pdf so that people can download it. So if anyone has a good suggestion on where such a file could be hosted, I'd be all ear (it would also help with other things to know such a place)
Cheers
Peter
