HP 71b repair
Message #1 Posted by Sean Connor on 26 Mar 2008, 3:29 p.m.

Hi all,

After having sold my 71b back in 1997 I couldn't resist it and I have bought another. Unfortunately it was DOA. I'm an electronics engineer and so I thought I would see if it was fixable. I found evidence of liquid residue and some corrosian inside close to the two electrolytic caps. I have ordered some replacements for these. There also appears to be a Motorola semiconductor close by. I think that this must be a voltage regulator. Can anybody confirm what this part is ?

Best Regards

Sean Connor
