What's the going rate for a 15C?
Message #1 Posted by BruceH on 3 Mar 2008, 12:39 p.m.

How much is a clean, good condition, fully functioning HP-15C, with slip case and manual worth these days?

Or put another way, if I had one to sell privately to a friend and wanted to agree a price that is fair to both of us, how much should I be asking?

There is just such a page on this site, Prices & Rarity under Collecting and Using on the right hand side of the home page. That page quotes a typical range of $96-$199, which sounds accurate.

That page was compiled with (I believe) data from over 6 years ago. "The craze" has happened further since then pushing prices much higher.

Recent prices on That Auction Site range from around $220 to $460

You very rarely see one go under $200, and if you do it's usually in poor condition without manual or case.

Depends on many things. Look around on some completed unmentionable auction website listings for HP-15C, find 3 or 5 similar condition ones with manual if possible, average them, and then subtract off $25- for the fees and such you would pay to ebay and paypal and the convenience factor for you.

Alternatively, average them without a manual and charge $30- for the manual if spiral bound great condition, less if in worse condition or not spiral bound.

For a friend, I'd say, for one in good condition, generally around $175.

Great condition, add $100-$150.
