Thermal Printer Paper for 82143A Printer?
Message #1 Posted by Gordon Hamachi on 3 Feb 2008, 3:01 p.m.

Can you recommend a source for thermal printer paper for the 82143A printer?

My recently-acquired HP41CX system came with one of these printers. The printer contains a fraction of a roll of paper, and does not print due to dead batteries. Before rebuilding the battery pack, it seems like a good idea to find out first if supplies are available.

Any office supply store should have the correct thermal paper rolls. 2-1/4" x 85 foot is the spec, this also fits the 90 series machines as well as many of credit card POS terminals in use today.

There are longer 2-1/4" wide rolls but they are too fat to fit.

PS: Don't waste your money buying old original HP rolls on eBay. New rolls work better than old rolls. They get stale, just like bread...
