I can not activate the Line Editor in the help screens on 49G+ or 50G
Message #1 Posted by Zeno on 5 Sept 2006, 10:29 p.m.

using the 49G+ and 50G with ROM 2.09.....

Sometimes the info in the HELP files for the different commands take mor room than the display....

In the manuals it says to hit the down arrow key in the help areas to activate the Line Editor, it does not work for me, I just get a beep.

In other parts of the manual, it says to activate the Line Editor by first using the green left shift key, and doing that it still does not activate the Line editor in the help menues that are larger than the screen.

How does one see all the text in the larger Help screens???

I may be using a different ROM, but I couldn't find any examples of a help message not having everything useful displayed.

Some commands, like MSLV, or rref, truncate the example *result* of using the command, though the description and syntax are complete. Well, to see the result, just enter the command in the calculator as used in the example.

What commands don't have everything necessary displayed?

PS, so yours also does not activate the Line Editor from using the down arrow key, or using left shift then the down arrow key???

All the commands display all thats needed to use it, just that I was wondering why the manual says it does something that I can not get it to do. Wondering if it can be done differently than the way the manual describes it.

Line edit is for editing whatever is on the first level of the stack.

It's not for editing the help menu, because what is there edit? The help information is permanent, and not interactive.
