Looks like a good 41CX auction
Message #1 Posted by Les Wright on 29 May 2006, 8:09 p.m.

I wanted to put in a plug for this auction.

I myself have put an admittedly ambivalent bid on it, but I am far more interested in the seller's 28S as I already have a 41CV.

The seller has only begun her eBay store, hence the zilch feedback. But I have communicated with her back and forth quite openly and she seems quite keen, honest, and, frankly, quite amazed that there is an active market for these units, so I have referred her to MoHPC. Her shipping seems reasonable too.

She was quite concerned about disclosing a zipper scratch on the bezel and has admittedly fuzzy photos showing it. These must be common enough due to the nature of the HP41 carrying case--I have some similar scratching on my own unit, and never really noticed it before.

I am no expert, but I would figure that a working, single owner "little-old-lady-driven" 41CX with Advantage module and all the manuals and reasonable shipping deserves somewhat more than the present $150 bid on it. I don't know if it is contrary to eBay or MoHPC rules to influence an auction through such cheerleading, but I have a good feeling about this calculator and this seller and thought the listing deserves attention.
