RPL memory management
Message #1 Posted by Alain on 9 May 2006, 2:17 a.m.

All,

I'm working on the core of an RPL interpreter in C++ (OpenRPN), and I'm evaluating options for memory management, namely garbage collection vs. reference counting.

With its RPL implementation HP had speed and memory constraints, and made some choices. Running on an ARM-based system with more memory, USB interface, etc, may change the equation. Or not.

What do you think?
