HP-92 financial calculator
Message #1 Posted by Ed Sejud on 21 Apr 2006, 12:29 a.m.

I have used an HP-92 financial calculator for almost 20 years. This is the desktop version of a 12C. One of the keys (the 0 key) now produces multiple 0000 with a single touch. I think the mechanical contact need to be cleaned. Does anyone know who can perform repairs on this model? Please advise edsejud@comcast.net

Anyone that does similar work on the HP-97 should be able to do it. I think you can probably do it yourself. The 9x are relatively easy to disassemble, and you don't have to drill out any heat stakes. I scanned the service manual, and it's on the MoHPC CDs/DVD.

For opening your HP92 you might get some hints (I am not sure if they are identical) from my pictures of opening an HP97. See them at http://www.pmgeiser.ch/calc/index.php?id=HP97cardReader

Best regards
Peter
