HP 33s Dud?
Message #1 Posted by Peter Hendy on 28 Mar 2006, 8:17 p.m.

I have an early HP 33s that has developed a problem where is locks up with either a blank screen or various pixels in error. Only way to clear it is rear reset button. Dont believe its local interference but strange that its intermittent. Have I just got a dud or is this a problem others have experienced? Any suggestions on a fix ? With other factors like small decimal, odd placement of small "ENTER" ect, perhaps it should be fixed by putting it in the bin!

Hi Peter. Have you tried changing the batteries?

Regards,

John

Or perhaps changing the calc while keeping the batteries?

replace the batteries and see what happens. If your problems persist, call HP, and they will probably send you a replacement. Tell them that you want a replacement unit that features the improved display where the issue of the tiny decimal point has been resolved. I had an earlier 33s with the tiny decimal, and sometimes the enter key didn't register when pushed. I called HP to complain, and they sent me a new one with the improved display.
