Another cheap offer ( copyright violation?)
Message #1 Posted by opotente on 1 Feb 2007, 1:31 p.m.

Have a look at this link:

Forth for HP 71b

In one picture you see that Hudendai sells the disk N° 6 of the museum CD. Is this legal? Anyway Hudendai seems to be a close relative of Coburlin looking at the cheap price that he asks for the auction

Guys, we've been down this road before. Someone who really wants this ROM will be willing to pay the price asked. That other idiot would ask $999.

If Hudendai owned the CD, he can sell it.

I don't think they are both idiots. Coburlin sells things at ridiculous prices that don't sell typically. I wonder if all the hours on the unmentionable auction website that he spends for the profit he makes even gives him equivalent of minimum wage. He'd likely be better off working at McDonald's.

As for Hudendai, he sells at high prices, but not ridiculous prices. Much smarter plan and a lot more sales.

EBC, I agree. I did not mean to imply that Hudendai is an idiot. He's a good guy, I have dealt with him before. It's that other guy who is the idiot. He (Cob) does sell some units to newbies who aren't savvy enough to see that they can get these things for lots less. Personally, I'd have a hard time sleeping at night if I acted like that, but I'll let a higher power judge him.

A parent made me a gift with a calc from Hudendai. Calc was bad quality, Hudendai made a minimum refund, proposed another refund that he never paid, as he knows all tips and tricks with ebay. Less $$$ predator than cobbuba but ...

JLS, you were offered to return the calculator for a full refund, and you declined. That may not translate well into french, but in english it does not imply an any additional refund if you choose to keep the calculator.
Further, anyone who reads your feedback from other sellers will see your pattern of trying to negotiate the price of goods after the sale by requesting a large (25%) refund and refusing to return the item otherwise. That's bad business- and why your rating is only 85%.

I just paid roughly that amount for a FORTH/Assembler ROM. It came with a hardcopy manual in excellent shape, however.

If they go for less, it's not common. I've been watching eBay prices on that peripheral for more than two years.

Howard

It took me over three years to get a Forth/Assembler Rom for a little less than that price. But I also got a manual.

If the seller purchased an individual MoHPC CD (not a copy) to include in the auction package, he should be able to do so.
