Kwartetten
Message #1 Posted by Bram on 9 Dec 2006, 2:55 p.m.

…is the Dutch name of an educational card game.
It has nothing to do with Hewlett-Packard whatsoever.

Or has it?

During the science week, held in October throughout the Netherlands, my son and I chose to visit the science park in Amsterdam. Between a presentation on sub-atomic particles and one on gamma-ray bursts we walked along loads of promotional material for the department. One of these was a card game with pictures relating to MODEST.
I selected and scanned several cards to share with you. At least one card of these surely will have your interest.
“daily use” this one says. Did you notice? How very true!

For the non-Dutch-speakers among us, the game Bram is referring to is the one commonly known in the U.S. (maybe in the English-speaking world in general?) as "Fish" or "Go Fish".

One always learns something here ;-)
I already thought that "quartet" wasn't a proper translation, but couldn't think of something more sensible.
