48GX won't self test...
Message #1 Posted by Ron on 30 Nov 2006, 5:32 p.m.

I just got a 48GX NIB, and the self test will not initiate. Did the reset, and no change. Looks good otherwise, and seems to work okay. Just can't test it fully. Any suggestions?

I've tested a lot of 48's, I've never seen one that would not self-test. The most common reason would be that you're not holding the On button down when pressing E.

Thanks for the suggestion, Randy. However, I've tested about a zillion 48s, so it wasn't user error (this time).

When I first received it, it was cold, so I thought maybe this was somehow hampering the test. Let it warm up for a good little while, but no change. Changed the batteries - No change. Reset - No change. Tried it again several hours later, and (drum roll...) it ran just like it should.

Don't know.
