HP 17BII+ Solver IF(S( ).. Limitation?
Message #1 Posted by tony(nz) on 18 Oct 2006, 5:15 p.m.

Hi 17BII+ users, sorry if this has been covered before, but I've heard that there seems to be a limit of 2 or 3 IF(S() statements in a single solver equation.

This works fine on the 19BII for example:

IF(S(A):A-1:IF(S(B):B-2:IF(S(C):C-3:D-4)))

I can't test it on a 17BII+ for about 12 hours so was wondering if it has been reported before as a 17BII+ issue... and if so was there a workaround.

From what I hear I expect the above equation can be typed in the 17BII+ and validated, but when it runs it may not give correct answers.

Cheers, Tony

Tony:

Works on my "old" 17BII+, SN: CNA418062xx.

First press of A returns 0, but then the variables seem to "initialize," and all return 1,2,3,4 as expected.
