Is this rare? Message #1 Posted by Daniel Lauzon on 26 Sept 2006, 5:35 p.m. I have a hard case that fits my 42s. The case is made by Astech and matches the color of the 42s. The front of the case folds back over the top and becomes a stand that holds the calc at a slight angle. The case has a raised tab on each side that matches the grove on the side of the calculator so that the calculator is securely locked into the case. I have never seen another one other than mine and I was just curious if I have a gem or just another case...

It's the best case around for the Pioneer, especially if you plan on using it for your work calculator in the field. They are fairly rare - they will occasionally appear on ebay. One did just this past week. I was lucky and bought two brand new a few years ago from a person who had a few new old stock. I paid $75 per case and they were well worth it. His stock has long run out. Enjoy the HP-42S and keep the case to protect it. Bill
