hello, i have a hp-97 that was from my father and i realise that my father was ussin it with a ac adaptor of 9 volts so he damage the calculator, i have tried to start it with a 8 volts ac adaptor (82040a) but dosent work...i will like to now if it can be repair, thanks.

Hi, Andres;

can you check if the batteries are O.K.? If I am not wrong, the batteries are used in the voltage regulator circuit as a reference. If they are completely down, I am not sure if the HP97 can be turned on.

Please, wait a bit more for others to post prior to go ahead with additional procedures. It's worth waiting to have a good, working HP97...

I doubt that a 9VAC adapter would do any damage.
