HP 42S

Is there a location in this calculator that will convert feet and inches to meters/milimeters? The manual doesn't address the subject. Please let me know if I'm sunk.....thanks.

The HP-42S does not have built-in unit conversions.
Just remember that 1" = 25.4 mm, and you'll be fine. :-)

This is the sort of thing that you can do really easily with the solver on the HP 42S.

Thomas' method is the fastest since the HP45 appeared in 1973.

After this one conversion you need I recommend you to stay with the meters till the end of your calculation(s) - enjoy the benefits of a consistent system of measures. If you really need Olde Imperial Thumbs, convert back just your final result.

After all, unit conversions are history (almost) everywhere today.
