Chinese 12c versus older models?
Message #1 Posted by joe locket on 15 Feb 2006, 5:36 p.m.

Is there any difference between the current version of the 12C made in China versus the older versions? The only change I've noticed is that the Chinese 12C uses one button battery, versus the three required by older models. When did the 12C switch to a single battery? Thanks!

Internally, many differences. There are some archived discussions, perhaps in the most recent one. ROM is the same.

Mechanical tolerances also changed.

Quality wise there's a huge difference between the Chinese 12C and the older models. The newer ones are simly not as solid as the older models --- mainly due to the use of poor materials.
