Message #1 Posted by Palmer O. Hanson, Jr. on 23 Jan 2006, 3:10 a.m.

Is the vintage TI-57 calculator a nonpareil? Consider that it came on the market in mid 1977 and then try the following demonstration program. Starting from turnon enter the program by pressing in sequence:

LRN
2 2nd Exc SST
2nd Lbl 0 R/S SST 5 R/S LRN RST R/S LRN
6 BST 2nd Ins LRN RST R/S LRN
5 BST 2nd Ins LRN RST R/S LRN
2 BST 2nd Ins LRN RST R/S LRN
4 BST 2nd Ins LRN RST R/S LRN
2 BST 2nd Ins LRN RST R/S LRN
7 BST 2nd Ins LRN

To run the program press GTO 2nd 0 4 R/S

Yes, beside digits 0..9, TI-57 has the ability to show A, b, C, d, E and F characters using synthetic programming.

I just entered your program into my TI-57E emulator running on HP-48G ... it displays FACAdES (if I entered it correctly) :-)
