[OT] Problem with Sperry calculator Message #1 Posted by alfredop on 1 Nov 2005, 1:20 p.m. Hi, first let me apologize for the off-topic, but maybe someone can give me an hint to solve a little problem on a Sperry Rand Remington 661 calculator that I have. It works well, but sometimes the numbers displayed are confused by the fact that a wrong segment turn on, it is less luminous than the others and it affects all the digits. I tried to dismount the unit and to clean it, but the problem was not solved. Bye Alfredo

That beast is quite power-hungry (I have 0.85W noted). Might as well be the display driver IC T3144 - that one is impossible to find as a part (unless you take apart another early Casio or Sperry). Could be a defective part in the power section as well - again, it's probably cheaper to buy a new one on ebay, since that one is pretty complex too.
