HP 9825B Tape..still available?
Message #1 Posted by Neil on 29 July 2005, 10:50 a.m.

Hello, I just aquired a nice condition HP 9825B. Is there anyone still making the tapes for these machines?

Thanks for any help.

Regards, Neil

I picked up several "new" 3M DC100A tape cartridges on eBay for a reasonable price, much less than what several media vendors were charging. I haven't had a chance to test them. I'm pessimistic that the tape drive still works, since capstan rot seems to be a common problem with these drives.

HI, Thank for the info. It's funny, I never thought of ebay for them.

I know I used another tape in my HP-85, but I cant remember what it was. The HP-85 uses the same DC100 tape.

Thanks again,

Neil
