Voyager feet
Message #1 Posted by Robert Hobbs on 16 July 2005, 3:14 p.m.

Hello, I am new to the forum and have some questions about voyager feet. I searched the archives and did not find a thread on this. Have I overlooked something?

I have two questions, the first is simple: Is there a source for replacement feet or the feet material (and glue)?

My second question has to do with the views of collectors on replacement feet. The situation arises because I acquired an HP-15c with rough-cut replacement feet. As I was thinking of getting feet for my main calculator anyway, I thought I would replace the poor ones on the other calculator. Then I began to wonder what collectors thought. Is a repaired calculator less valuable than an original? Does it depend on the quality of the repair or simply on the fact of the repair as it would for some other types of collectibles?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts on these questions.

Hey thanks! That is the first half solved. Since hp still makes the 12c, do they provide these feet?

Robert

I am surprised no one else has responded. I would expect that serious collectors would possibly do their own maintenance. If you are worried and you want to sell the calculator just advertise it as the calculator including a set of replacement Voyager feet not fitted.

Chris
