Interface HP42S to Notebook PC?
Message #1 Posted by Anver Cassim on 8 June 2005, 8:40 a.m.

Is it possible to link the HP42S to a HP Notebook PC using the IR port. I am trying to get a ROM Image from the HP42S to use with an emulator, available on the net. A Mr. Garnier describes the process of transfering the ROM contents, but this requires a HP48, which I do not have.

Can someone help?

Thanks and Regards

The problem is that the IR in the 42 is not compatible to that on the laptop computer.

Sorry, you really require a HP-48 to do this...

You can try Thomas Okken's Free42 (No ROM required): http://home.planet.nl/~demun000/thomas_projects/free42/
