New HP 33S
Message #1 Posted by Naim on 4 June 2005, 12:59 p.m.

Can anyone confirm that the newer 33S has an enlarged decimal point? A photo would be appreciated.

Naim,

After reading your message, I checked the HP33s at a WAL-Mart in Charlottesville, VA, and the decimals ARE STILL SMALL. The highest serial number i saw was CN435xxxx. Sorry to disapoint you. I was disapointed myself. Looks like HP has NOT fixed the decimal problem of the HP33s. My wife was with me (she sells calculators at the university bookstore in Richmond) and confirmed that the decimal looked very small.

Hi Naim. This week I saw 33s's with larger decimal points and commas with s/n's 428, 432 and 442. I'm not sure when HP made the modification and depending on how they manage their inventory there may have been a transition period where small and large decimal point models were shipping at the same time. At this point the only way to know for sure would be to turn on the calculator and see for yourself.

I hope that this helps.

John
