hp tech on the 49g+
Message #1 Posted by EL on 30 Apr 2005, 6:55 p.m.

Hi all,

Well, I checked back with hp tech sppt this week, and was surprised to hear that they practically NEVER get calls about missed keys and other on the 49g+

In fact, the fellow (who admitted that it took him about 3 months to adjust to the 49g+) claimed that I was the second person to complain about the subtle automatic shift to "conserve mode" He offered me a pro-rated refund, to which I asked "does it make sense that I struggle with your problems for a few months, only to lose money?" He felt that was fair.

Of course they don't get many complaints, after all, Out of a class of 300 engineering students, only about three of us use hp's. They've stopped selling the g+ and only carry 33s and 48gIIs'.

Well, I guess I'm alone with my 'obsolete' 48g. EL

Sorry JC,

Yes, the bookstore hasn't had any 49g+s' for a while now.

The 49g+ is lightning quick, but the keys could have been at least as good as the 33s, no? Those seem to work fine. EL
