HP-67 tantalum capacitor
Message #1 Posted by Albert on 14 Feb 2005, 4:00 p.m.

Hi everybody,

I need to know what is the value of the tantalum capacitor in the card reader PCB. My HP-67 has not the variable resistor for adjusting the motor speed.

Thanks in advance,

Albert

I beleive the original one was 4.7 uF. I have used values from 3.3 to 15 uF. Usually I use 6.8 uF 12V caps. The main problem can be finding one small enough to fit in the space. The models with the cap at then end of the reader chip don't leave much room when the case is closed.
