Interesting HP41 Wand Repair

About one year ago I bought a HP41 Wand, which turned out not to work. The led in the tip went on, but nothing showed in CAT 2. There was nothing to be found in the page of the Wand.
Today I plugged in the Wand and copied an image of the Wand ROM in my MLDL2000, and the whole thing worked! It turns out that the Wand ROM image does not have to be in the page that the Wand is plugged in and obviously the Wand controller is totally independent of the ROM. This is confirmed by the Wand Service Manual.
Glad to have my Wand back! I borrewed my original to someone and I have lost track if him.
