HP 41CX display failure
Message #1 Posted by Jim Stewart on 27 Jan 2005, 12:56 p.m.

My fifteen year old 41 CX display began going dark along the upper margin about a year ago.It has gotten gradually worse since,to the extent that the top of the fifth digit is no longer visible. Are replacement displays available?I would appreciate any thoughts.

Only source of a replacement display is another machine. Assuming your machine is a "fullnut" model, you can use this display from just about any 41C/CV/CX fullnut. Early 41C machines with the square epoxy blobs over the display chips may not work.

You can consider halfnut machines to not be worth the problems associated with repairing... removing the keyboard usually renders the machines unusable.
