Though, I wonder if I should pursue this anymore, as when my son gets to high school (still a few years off), I think I'll spring RPN on him.
The only reason why I got this one, the 39G, for him was that it was cheap as you said, it was algebraic, since he's really barely out of grade school, and it's HP. Yeah, yeah, I've read all the rants on this forum and on the 48 newsgroup; it's a loyalty out of memory...memories of how a versatile, rugged, and powerful 34C rescued me from hours of drudgery by its power from the keyboard and program memory. I myself started out with a TI algebraic until it bit the dust (only a year or so of use!!!) from wear. After discovering RPN... well, there's no turning back! At least his 39G will last much more than the year+ that my TI SR-40 lasted.
