48SX storage
Message #1 Posted by Mike S. on 18 Oct 2004, 3:38 p.m.

Id like to store my HP 48SX. Can I remove the main batteries for a extended time, or will some of it's firmware be lost, does it have firmware? This is a 1st-year 48SX made in Corvallis OR. -Thanks, Mike.

Hi,

you should remove the batts to avoid damage to the battery terminals,
which can occur by battery leakage.
The HP-48SX has it's 'firmware' or operating system in ROM,
so it won't get lost even after many years.

BTW: Could you provide th serial number of your unit?
