HP 48 sighting
Message #1 Posted by db(martinez,california) on 4 Oct 2004, 1:57 a.m.

I watched a show about Spaceship One on Discovery Channel tonight. During a sequence where the ship had been dropped and was having control problems, they had to decide quickly to either land with a full load of fuel or to risk the burn. There was a quick shot of someone on the ground consulting his 48.

HP note: With all their computer power the bottom line was still something that works. That life or death decision was not made with his Apple or some Casio or TI or PDA. What it was made on was 15 year old technology.

db-

I saw that on the show too. But to tell the truth it looked that guy was using his 48 to add up his gambling losses from the prior night's outing to Las Vegas. He didn't seem that into trying to figure out if his buddy was going to make it down safely :)
