Re: HP12c vs. TI BAII+ Message #2 Posted by Gene on 8 Sept 2004, 10:24 p.m., in response to message #1 by BrianH
I'm a video lecturer for Allen Resources, a CFA exam review company. In fact, if you purchase their materials, I'm on CD #1 showing how to use the 12c vs. the BAII Plus.
Both have their pluses and minues.
12c: RPN, you're already familiar with it. But, it rounds "n" calculations.
BAII+: Has combinations and permutations (that are a pain with only a x! function). Has "worksheet" entry for cash flows and statistics. This is a big time saver if you need to check for a mistake.
Answer is it depends. RPN is worth A LOT. The BAII+ has more functionality than the 12c, but you probably wouldn't use it on the CFA exam anyway.
Feel free to email if you'd like to discuss this in more detail or reply here again and I'll see what I can do.
