HP 49G+ Emulator
Message #1 Posted by Richard Garner on 24 Aug 2004, 12:23 a.m.

Hi Folks,

There was a mention that someone on comp.sys.hp48 got an HP 49G+ Emulator in the mail from HP. There has been a number of questions directed at the poster for more information, but no response yet. I looked over the HP calculator website, but did not find anything about an emulator. Does anyone here have any information? I do not own an HP 49G+ and currently do not have plans to buy one. But, I would like to see and test the emulator to determine if it is worth getting if or when the manufacturing problems are solved.

Richard…

I happen to have a copy of the download HP made available for a short time about two years ago. It is a 3.8 MB .zip file with two self-extracting files: one for the emulator and one for the manual. I will attempt to send it to you via my work computer since my home email is up/down/up/down like a yo-yo.

You're right…I got the models mixed up. The 49G emulator was released by HP more than two years ago, long before the 49G+ was introduced.

I have not seen an HP-49G+ emulator. There is one for the older HP-49G.

Cyrille just confirmend that yes it is real, but isn't a full 49g+ emualator. It emulates the ARM bus calls (the calls to certain ARM functions from Saturn land) but doesn't actually emulate the ARM. So it does have the larger screen and I assume SD support, but won't run ARM code. No I don't have it, but can't wait to get it! =)

Hello all!

I found the URL to sign up for the free 49G+ emulator:

http://www.hp.com/calculators/graphemulators/

The form says it's for "educators" ... and they ask for your school name, and your title (professor, teacher, ...).

Good luck!
