HP49G+ Bug?
Message #1 Posted by Eddie Shore on 11 Aug 2004, 12:27 a.m.

When I enter

number sigma i^-x i=start pt

EVAL, I get "?" as a result.

However, if I input

number sigma 1/i^x i=start pt

EVAL, I get a result.

Is there a flag I need to clear/set to get a result out of the first expression, or is part of HP49 syntax?

Thanks.

Hi, Eddie;

You are using it in Algebraic mode, right? Have you tried:

number sigma i^(-x) i=start pt
instead?

Just something that occured to me: isn't ^ trying to identify '-' alone as a parameter?

Hope this helps.
